Pigments consist of small particles used for their coloring properties. Unlike dyes they have a very low solubility in water and organic solvents.
Titanium dioxide, a white pigment is the most important pigment in terms of produced quantities. Because of its high chemical resistance and lack of toxicity it is used as a colorant and filler material in numerous products such as:
- paints and coatings
- printing inks
- plastics and fibers
- paper
- cosmetics and pharmaceuticals
There are two manufacturing processes for titanium dioxide, the sulfur process and the chlorine process. Sefar offers solutions for filter media for both processes using the following equipment: | | |
