Closures or mechanical seams are important devices for belt filters in order to make these filters endless after installation on the machine.
The following systems are available:
Metal pin seam
There are different types according strength required and roll diameter. They are the standard solution for e.g. DLW fabrics used in vacuum belt filters.
Endless sewn
This is a flat seam 20 to 40 mm wide. Its use is limited to small, open mesh belts.
Mono pin seam made from fabric
This is a closure made directly from the open mesh fabric. It is popular for screen printing dryer belts.
Sewn mono pin seam
This is a closure made from open-weave fabric, sewn to the belt. This is a popular solution for dryer belts and belts used for coolant applications.
Spiral link closure
Easy-to-close system, fitted directly to the belt. This is popular for dryer belts.
Sefar TPU-closure
TPU-closures (thermo plastic polyurethane) are a service-friendly system for special belts used in e.g. the automotive industry for coolant filtration.
