The woven fabric in the infusion set acts as a security filter. The function of the filter is to retain large particles that might be present in the infusion solutions (e.g. aggregated nutrients, pharmaceutical compounds) or which may originate from the infusion bag or the infusion bottle. The DIN and ISO standards require that the filter fabric must retain particles greater than 20 microns with an efficiency of greater than 80%.
