Edges on sieve cylinders are a subjected to heavy wear and tear and need to keep their shape. The following edge treatments are available:
Heat-cut
The melting at the heat-cutting process causes the edge to be closed. This is the standard treatment for sieve cylinders.
Taped edges
Various edge constructions are available. This is the standard treatment for e.g. sieve cylinders with open-mesh open mesh fabrics.
Coated edges
For application when especially heavy abrasion is expected and/or edges are required having no air permeability. Polyurethane coated edges of 30 mm width are available.
This gives optimal mechanical protection.
Hot-wedge welded
These provide heat-resistant protection against fraying and mechanical wear.
